Test Capability Review

Find out what is really slowing your testing down.

Overview

“Testing takes too long.” “Testing costs too much.” “Testing is stopping us releasing more often.” A Test Capability Review gets to the root cause of these problems. Our consultants assess the full scope of your testing capabilities such as process, environments, people, tools and governance, then benchmark them against industry peers to give you a prioritised roadmap to improve.

Who it's for

CIOs, delivery leads, heads of testing and QA managers with in-house testing teams. It suits organisations that want to build their own capability rather than outsource testing for the long term.

Scalability

Whether your testing process can scale to meet future project demand.

Metrics, reporting and stage gates

Frequently asked questions

What is a test capability review?

A test capability review is an independent assessment of how well an organisation tests its software. It covers practices, people, tools, environments, data and reporting, and produces a prioritised roadmap to improve quality, speed and cost.

How is it different from the free Quality Engineering Maturity Assessment?

The free online assessment gives you a quick, self-rated snapshot of your maturity. A Test Capability Review is a consultant-led engagement that interviews your people, reviews your evidence, benchmarks you against peers and delivers a tailored roadmap.

How long does a Test Capability Review take?

Most reviews take six to 12 weeks, depending on the size of your IT portfolio and how many teams are in scope.

Does it cover test automation and AI?

Yes. We identify where test automation and AI-powered testing would speed up delivery and improve quality, and where they would not pay off.

Will you take over our testing?

No. The review is designed to build your in-house capability, not replace it. If you need extra support while you implement the roadmap or hire, our Quality Engineering team can help in the short term.

What happens after the review?

Your team uses the roadmap to prioritise improvements. We can support implementation through coaching, governance uplift or automation, as much or as little as you need.
